PERFORMANCE ENHANCEMENT IN OXY-COMBUSTION CYCLE CO2 TURBINES
In contrast to general gas turbines, less research has been conducted on sCO2 turbines. Therefore, this study investigates loss mechanisms and efficiency enhancement methods in turbines using sCO2 as the working fluid. In this study, MULTALL is used to systematically explore the 1-D design space of axial turbines running on sCO2. The real gas effects of sCO2, though not as pronounced as in compressors, will be taken in to account. In addition, various methods for enhancing efficiency will be investigated.
